Welcome, readers, to a deeper dive into the world of The Horrors of Alchemy! If you love medieval horror, alchemical mysteries, and characters who must face the unknown, then you're in the right place. In this post, I'll introduce you to the key players in my novel, giving you a glimpse into their personalities, struggles, and the horrors they face.

Dementia Caligari

Role in the Story: One of the Protagonists of the story and the Thief of the Party.

Age: Twenty-One years old

Appearance: Standing 5' 6" this fair skinned woman has an unenthusiastic feel about her. Her shoulder-length, black hair is pulled back in a braid. She has an angular face with high cheekbones, an aquiline nose, and mysterious dark green eyes. She has narrow shoulders, toned arms, a narrow waist and long legs. She wears weather and travel stained clothes of black with dark leather armor layered overtop.

Personality: A cautious skeptic, always looking out for a knife in the dark. Energetic and outgoing, but to hide her fear of people.

Backstory: An orphan taken in by the Guild Master of the Thieves Guild and taught how to survive on her own skills. Is next in line to take over as Guild Master.

Sir Reeve Givadin

Role in the Story: One of the Protagonists of the story and one of the Fighters of the Party.

Age: Thirty

Appearance: White, shaggy hair that hangs over a long face. Green eyes that are set deep within their sockets. A scar runs across his face diagonally. Standing at six feet tall he wears well tailored leather under a full set of fine crafted plate mail.

Echo Cromwell

Role in the Story: One of the Protagonists of the story and the other Fighter of the Party.

Age: Twenty-Five

Appearance: Blond, sleek hair tied back, shows a slim face. Bright green eyes practically glow. Freckles are scattered across her nose and cheekbones. She stands tall at 5’ 10” with a well toned muscle structure. She is clothed in well worn travel clothes with a beat up set of piecemeal overtop. Her weapons and armor are of decent quality, though well used.

Personality: Strong willed and not easily swayed from her ideas.

Backstory: A nobody in society, she had to fight for everything she had. She wanted to prove that being female did not make her any less skilled than the male fighters. She joined up with a mercenary guild and worked her way up the ranks.

Demien Nox

Role in the Story: One of the Protagonists of the story and the Cleric of the Party.

Age: Twenty-Two

Appearance: Silver, dreadlocks almost fully cover a fresh, charming face. Woeful silver eyes, set rooted within their sockets. He is shorter than average, standing at 5’ 8” with a slender, swimmers build. He wears classic cleric vestments that are stained with travel.

Personality: Very laid back and filled with good humor. Always appreciating a good joke but also intelligent and wise, a good man to look to for advice.

Backstory: The fifth son of his family, there were no protests when he decided to join the clergy of Freya as a Cleric. He devoted his time to sharpening his mind and learning from others' experience to increase his own understanding of life.

Severina Wolf

Age: Twenty-Seven

Appearance: Brown hair slightly covers her skinny face. Gray eyes are set deeply within their sockets. Her skin is pale and untouched by the sun. She wears maroon scholar robes, stained from her time traveling.

Personality: Timid and soft spoken, she rarely voices her opinion and looks to others to lead. She has a brilliant mind and remembers everything she hears or reads but she is timid and easily pushed around by others.

Backstory: She was accepted into an exclusive magic school when her intelligence was discovered by a member of the staff. She worked hard to prove herself and make her mentor proud. Failure is devastating to her and is something she is unused to.
